How is the Water: An Upcoming Ocean Simulator

Cyan Planet has started a Kickstarter campaign to help them fund an upcoming game that will let you become a part of marine life and preserve the ocean heritage for future generations.

Recently, a Kickstarter campaign has been launched by a group of developers to fund their project How is the Water. How is the Water is a virtual ocean simulation and game for mobile devices, PCs, and virtual reality that will immerse players in the ocean, connecting them with marine life. In this game, players will be able to become a dolphin or a shark, explore, hunt, cross-play with friends, and preserve the ocean heritage for future generations.

The idea behind this project is to raise awareness of ocean pollution and to make a difference in global ocean conservation and restoration. You see, half of the development team are ichthyologists and marine biologists, so it is easy to understand why they want to help – they just know all too well about the problems our oceans face.

"How is the Water aims to make the ocean and its magic accessible for everyone. We weave environmental awareness into the core game loop and ensure your real-world impact for ocean conservation - all from the comfort of your home," comment the developers. "With your help, we can digitally preserve marine life, evoke empathy and spark action for ocean protection. Share the magic of the ocean with friends and make them fall in love with it!"

The team has already managed to raise 2/3 of their goal and we hope they collect the rest in no time. You can become a part of the project too by visiting How is the Water's Kickstarter page. Also, don't forget to join our new Telegram channel, our Discord, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.

In this tutorial, you will be going over on how to create 4 very different materials from scratch in SD. The goal of these courses is to teach you a solid workflow that we also use in the AAA game industry.
