Reza Mortazavi isn't just another Redditor, his portfolio is filled with assets that could easily pass for real-life photos, similar to the Nokia 3310 recreation we discussed with him a few years ago. This time, he has showcased an incredible new project created in Blender and Houdini, with textures done in Substance 3D Painter, although it's hard to believe that even when you're looking at the wireframes.
Reza shared that getting the water simulation right was the most time-consuming and challenging part, he used Houdini for the FLIP sim. For rendering, he used Cycles, and with an RTX 4080 setup, the renders were relatively fast, though he also relied on denoising. Each frame took roughly 3-4 minutes to render.
