Mother Hub has been cooking for 9 years to become S. ODale's dream game.
The early 2000s are the Golden Age of video games, and if you miss those times, check out Mother Hub, a Unity-made retro horror FPS strongly inspired by Fallout, Half-Life, Dead Space, and Doom. Its developer S. ODale has been working on the shooter for 9 years to shape it into his dream game, and its demo is finally out.
"In a world where all of humanity is trapped inside a single massive vault, fight to discover a cure for the sickness that plagues them by descending into the abandoned lower levels. Only you can survive the horrors that await within the depths of the Mother Hub."

Even though the atmosphere is definitely appropriate for what the creator was striving for, the mushroom areas in the trailer and the feeling of isolation reminded me of SOMA, a much more modern game, with monsters and guns.
Traverse the terrifying hallways and creepy spaces cautiously as mutated creatures are waiting for you around every corner. In true old-school fashion, you need to figure out what happened with humanity and how you can save it by listening to audio logs, reading emails, and finding ancient writings.

Mother Hub will be fully out in 2025, but you can already experience its horrors in a demo on Steam.
