Impressive Fluid Simulation Set Up in Houdini With FLIP

Jacktone Okore showcased a cool new Houdini-powered sim.

Jacktone Okore, a 3D Generalist and Houdini FX Artist, who specializes primarily in small-scale liquid simulations, has demonstrated an incredible new fluid simulation created with SideFX's flagship 3D procedural software Houdini. Dubbed "For the Love of FLIP!", the new simulation depicts dozens of fluid droplets seamlessly combining into one heart-shaped 3D model. According to the creator, the demonstrated effect was set up using FLIP (Fluid Implicit Particles) in Houdini.

If you would like to learn how to set up similar simulations, then Jacktone's amazing HS-235: Small Scale Fluids course, available via Houdini.School, would be the best way to start.

With this course, you'll get a better understanding of FLIP simulations for unique shot cases, including the advantages and disadvantages inherent in these scenarios. Additionally, you will learn valuable workflow practices utilized by Jacktone in his client work. By the end of the course, you will be ready to apply these new skills to real-world projects.
