According to the latest reports, Valve was apparently generating more revenue per employee than giant tech companies like Amazon, Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft, that's what the recent internal Valve study from 2018 says.

The report came to light in connection with a 2021 lawsuit filed by Wolfire against Valve, focusing on alleged anti-competitive practices related to the 30% commission earned from game sales.

Based on the GameDiscoverCo newsletter and the details provided, we can finally see that in 2018, Valve was making at least $780,400 in net income per employee, while Apple made $476,160 per employee. This shows that Valve was actually one of the most efficient companies back then, and it did know how to manage its resources.

It's unclear if this situation has changed in the past six years, but Valve maintained its business model, and I bet it still makes that much money and remains among those mentioned above.
