137 bones enable the artist to have full control over the rig.
Set up in just an hour, the rig features 137 hand-placed Bendy Bones (B-Bones), a neat property that allows one to replace long chains of many small rigid bones in Blender. As stated by Temtor, this uncommon approach to setting up digital cloth was chosen because it allows the creator to control everything on the rig at any time.
"Some controls are driven by more important controls to keep the folds reacting more naturally, but I did have to animate a lot of myself," commented the creator. "I can bake that animation into an action and add it to the controls, which means one bone can control the entire hood going down."
Occasionally, Temtor also takes to YouTube and shares educational guides on using Blender for digital art and 3D animation. You can access the artist's YT channel by clicking this link.
