Indie Game Fund by Among Us Developers Reveals Its Contract

The company receives 15% of developers' revenue after the advance is repaid.

Innersloth

Innersloth, the studio behind the multiplayer hit Among Us, has a fund that supports indie developers, called Outersloth, so if you need money for your game, it can be your solution. It's a nice deal, especially since the rates it offers are quite competitive, as revealed in the contract game makers sign.

Innersloth showed it to anyone interested, posting the link to the document on its website. The most important part is, of course, how much you'd pay back if you decided to partner with the studio. According to the contract, it gives you a sum of money in advance, and you'll have to share 50% of your game's net revenue until it's repaid and then 15% for Innersloth's support.

This is quite a nice deal, born from the team's desire to "encourage other funds/publishers to adopt terms that were more developer-friendly." Commonly, funds and publishers take 70% or 80% until advance recovery and then 30% or 20%.

Aside from funds, Innersloth will provide mentorship services, such as advice regarding hiring, studio management, matchmaking for PR/marketing agencies, porting, and quality assurance, business deals, platform relationships, and release management, upon request. The agreement lasts for 7 years after the game's release.

"The status quo is often based on what information is publicly available, so we hope throwing our contract into the ring will help shape future conversations. Transparency is key, so hope you enjoy the read!"

Innersloth has funded 24 games so far, and yours can become another one if you're happy with the conditions.
