Boss fights take the form of sport matches: players must score 7 points with a 2-point lead to win, facing off against the Red Cards, a group of rival fighters challenging the Tiebreakers across the world. The combat in Tiebreakers values speed, and players need to parry, shoot, and slide as fast as possible. The arsenal includes sport-themed projectiles such as ping-pong balls, bowling balls, and tennis balls.
