Jeff Grubb: BioWare Is Happy with Dragon Age Dreadwolf

The game is targeting next summer.

It's been almost a decade since the last installment in the Dragon Age franchise, and while we know that Dreadwolf has been in development for a while now, there isn't much to talk about as BioWare is not in a hurry to share any information about the game.

Well, at least journalist Jeff Grubb has shed some light on the situation, saying the studio is satisfied with where Dragon Age 4 is at now.

"What I've heard about Dragon Age Dreadwolf is that they are pretty happy with where that game is at, internally," he said during the recent Game Mess podcast. "It's taking more time, it keeps getting pushed back, but that's pretty much every game these days."

Of course, being happy with your own game doesn't mean players will be, and the layoffs affecting veterans of the studio, including its writer Mary Kirby, who had been working there for 17 years, are not filling fans with hope.

Plus, the leaked footage of what looks like Dreadwolf raised some questions among RPG lovers.

Again, Grubb says he hasn't heard anything bad about the game despite its troubled development. But hopefully we won't get another Inquisition, especially after the crazy success of Baldur's Gate 3.

Grubb also mentioned that Dreadwolf is planned for summer 2024 – something he's already talked about before – although I'm skeptical about it based on the lack of official media or any kind of announcements and the fact that developers prefer launching games in fall.
