Julien Gauthier's Procedural Building Generator for Blender Updated

The author has released the updated version of the Geometry Nodes-powered Auto-Building add-on.

Senior Concept Artist/Art Director Julien Gauthier has released a highly-anticipated update for Auto-Building, a procedural Geometry Nodes-powered building generator for Blender, released back in June 2022.

First announced last month, the long-awaited update adds a new custom interface to the add-on, brings tons of new features, including facade and roof scattering, pillar generator, and modular roof generator, adds multiple new preset buildings, and much more. According to the creator, the release is both "an update and rebrand", and will be available for free to those who already own the add-on. "You don't have to pay for what you already have," commented the author.

The Auto-Building add-on features:

  • Spawn objects from a collection onto faces.
  • Control the density, the randomness, automatic boolean, offset, etc.
  • Deform the objects to adapt to the shape of the face, ideal to add irregularity and stylized design
  • Spawn objects on either horizontal or vertical edges. Choose the distance between them, if they should be deformed or centered.
  • Extrude the edges following a profile to add ledges
  • Automatic roof parapet control or roof tile distribution.
  • The roof tiles can be randomly placed or follow a regular distribution
  • Scatter objects on the roof or on the facade
  • Automatic create support pillar and foundation
  • Modular roof (beta)

Sorry if this is quite a basic question. I'm pretty new to all this 3d stuff. This addon(?) looks amazing. Very much considering buying this. I saw a preview of it  in action on facebook.

The buildings in the first clip shown was using a shader that gave the buildings a cross hatched sort of look. Is the node setup for that shader included in the pack?
