Kakeru Taira Revisits Liminal 3D Scenes Made in Blender

One of them was featured in a popular Japanese variety show.

CG Artist Taira Kakeru has recently returned after a several-month hiatus to revisit some of their previous backrooms-inspired works shared over the past couple of years and announce that one of them was featured in "School Revolution!", a Japanese variety show.

The artwork in question, embedded above, features a realistic-looking take on the Ginza Station subway entrance in Tokyo, with the names of the lines slightly altered (e.g. Ginda Line instead of Ginza Line) for an undisclosed reason. As with all the other projects, Taira used Blender, a free and open-source 3D software for modeling, texturing, animation, rendering, and VFX, to set up the environment and capture the unsettling vibe of liminal spaces.
