Shortly after yesterday's news about the unveiling of the official name of Ubisoft's new installment in the open-world action RPG series, several key art images from Assassin's Creed Shadows have been leaked and widely circulated online.

These images initially appeared online, courtesy of dataminer u/fraxR6, who obtained them from the Ubisoft store backend. Although the original images have since been taken down by the moderators of r/assassinscreed, some quick-thinking players managed to save and let them stay on social media.
The leaked images disclose two principal characters — what appears to be an African-descended samurai, and a female ninja. According to a report by Insider Gaming last year, it was suggested that the samurai may be inspired by Yasuke, the first African documented in Japanese history.

With the game's premier trailer due to release in a few hours, anticipation among fans has reached a fever pitch. Let's wait patiently before it's finally unveiled.
