To become the video game with the longest script ever.
Warhorse Studios
In April, Warhorse Studios officially unveiled Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the story-driven action RPG that will be released in February next year. What impressed us is that the game will not only bring new mechanics and quests, but also feature approximately five hours of cutscenes, two hours more than its predecessor, and will set players in a world that is double the size of the original game.
Despite having fair anticipation for how big the game would be, it's still surprising to see how many words the narrative team wrote for the game. Daniel Vávra, who is co-founder of Warhorse Studios and director of the franchise, has shared the info on X/Twitter:
2.2 million words is a crazy amount of work. The official Guinness World Record of the longest script for a videogame was issued to Larian Studio's Baldur's Gate 3, which is said to have "more than 2 million words – greater than all the books in the Game of Thrones series." That's to say, we will witness this record be broken as Kingdom Come: Deliverance II debuts next year.
The developer showcased a 25-minute gameplay trailer a few days ago, presenting us a deep look at the vast open world set in the late Middle Ages, first-person combat footage through Henry's eyes, the various characters, UI panels, and more:
The game is set to be launched on February 11, 2025, and will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders are available now for $59.99, and the physical editions are priced at $69.99 per disc.
