Kurzgesagt Revealed How It Uses Blender For New Video Game

Looks like After Effects, right?

Kurzgesagt, best known for its YouTube channel with educational videos on science, technology, and other subjects, is currently working on Star Birds, a vibrant sci-fi base-building and resource management game where you help your population of birds thrive.

The studio just dropped a behind-the-scenes look at the assets, and you might easily mistake them for 2D if you didn't see how they were created. Kurzgesagt probably still sticks with After Effects for the videos, but there are actually convenient ways to create infographics in Blender, for example, with the Node Charts add-on.

Star Birds is now in early access, letting you join your flock on an interstellar mission to establish a prosperous mining operation and uncover new technologies to advance even further. Available on Steam:
