Larian Just Revealed Some Very Telling Baldur's Gate 3 Player Stats
You might think some of them are kind of concerning.
Larian Studios shared player-behavior stats for Baldur's Gate 3's third anniversary on Bluesky, and they range from the mundane to the absurd. These are some of them:
- 500 million mod downloads.
- 13,000 mods uploaded.
- The NPC who died most often is Zevlor, with 12.31 million deaths.
- The weapon most often chosen to defeat The Netherbrain is Gontr Mael, used 33.4 million times.

And now for the weird part:
- The Nutbuster was used as a weapon twice in combat.
- The Poo-Scraper was used four times in combat across Act 3.
- 34,204 players got drunk before fighting the Netherbrain.
- Less than 1% obtained around 180,000 gold in a single playthrough.
- Some players made 560+ manual saves in a single playthrough.
- Fewer players made 1,400+ quicksaves.
- 5% of players had over 2,000 camp supplies in their inventory when they took a rest.
- 1% of players had over 4,000 camp supplies in their inventory.

In the replies, Larian also mentioned that the NPC character Alfira was killed more often by non-Dark Urge players than by Dark Urge players. This was an interesting detail considering that, if you are playing as a Dark Urge, the game forces you to kill her, but not if you are a non-Dark Urge. This means some players simply decided to kill her anyway.
Releasing these stats has become something of an annual tradition for Larian. It's a lighthearted way to celebrate another year of watching how players interact with the game.
