Larian Studios Announces Q&A Session After Criticism It Received for Using AI
"A lot has become lost in translation."
Larian Studios' good rep has recently been damaged by its CEO, Swen Vincke, revealing that the company uses generative AI for some tasks in its upcoming Divinity game.
Although he reassured fans that nobody was getting replaced, many players were disappointed. To address this and any other issues, Vincke announced a Q&A session where fans can ask anything, as "a lot has become lost in translation."
"Larian’s DNA is agency. Everything we work towards is to the benefit of our teams, games, and players. A better work day, and a better game. Our successes come from empowering people to work in their own way and bring the best out of their skill & craft, so that we can make the best RPGs we can possibly make."
He added that with this in mind, it would be "irresponsible" for the studio "not to evaluate new technologies."
"However, our processes are always evolving, and where they are not efficient or fail to align with who we are, we will make changes."
Larian will host an AMA with its different departments after the holiday break, where you'll be able to ask the teams about Divinity and their overall processes.
The date will be unveiled in 2026. For now, subscribe to our Newsletter and join our 80 Level Talent platform, follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram, and Instagram, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
