Larian Studios Reveals New Divinity Game, "Even Larger Than Baldur's Gate 3"
No, it's not Original Sin 3.
You probably know Larian Studios for its huge hits Baldur's Gate 3 or Divinity: Original Sin. If you enjoyed these games, the company has a pleasant surprise for you: at The Game Awards 2025, it revealed a trailer for its next title, and it's a Divinity game.
But perhaps it wasn't a surprise at all: just a couple of days ago, it was found that someone filed three Divinity trademarks, although Larian's publishing director Michael Douse said that there are no plans for Divinity: Original Sin 3.
Well, he didn't lie: the new Divinity game is not Original Sin 3, but it will be Larian's "biggest game ever" that is "even larger than Baldur's Gate 3," according to TGA's host Geoff Keighley.
"While Divinity is a brand new game that doesn’t require experience with previous Larian titles, those who’ve played Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be able to enjoy greater understanding and continuity," Larian said in a press release (via PC Gamer).
Interestingly, this is actually the first game simply called Divinity in the series that started with Divine Divinity.
"Despite our long history with the series, this is our first game entitled 'Divinity,'" said Larian's founder and CEO Swen Vincke. "We’re ready to bring everything we’ve done previously into one place. This marks the beginning of something with more breadth, depth, and intimacy than anything we’ve created before. We’ve been building toward this moment ever since we took our fate into our own hands. This is the Divinity we’ve always wanted to make and you're going to have loads of fun with it."
Maybe it will become TGA's Game of the Year one day, just like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 did this year.
