Learn More about New Beginning of Fable Franchise in Developers' FAQ Section
Character customization, no multiplayer, same world, new start, and more.
We have been waiting for a new Fable game for years, and it's finally approaching its release in the fall of 2026. For those who aren't sure whether they want to buy it, developers from Playground Games (Forza Horizon) prepared a FAQ section, where they answer some of the most popular questions.
The new Fable has a different studio working on it, and it will be separate from Lionhead Studios' previous parts, but the core of the series will stay the same: your choices will influence your image and how NPCs view you.
"Though the game we’re making is very much faithful to the spirit of the classic Lionhead trilogy, Fable is a new beginning for the Fable franchise and isn’t a continuation of the original games."
Playground Games
Fable is still set in the "fully open" world of Albion with reimagined locations, which you can explore alone: there is no multiplayer mode in the game.
Character customisation remains a big part of the experience: you can choose what your character looks like, selecting different heads, hairstyles, skin tones, and more.
"Beyond all the combat lies a world that never stops turning. Get filthy rich as a landlord or blacksmith, romance a villager (or three — we’re not judging), have a bunch of kids, and watch as your reputation precedes you. Being a Hero is a bit like being a celebrity… if celebrities carried swords and occasionally battled giant fire-breathing chickens."
Playground Games
You will be able to enjoy the moral choices and their consequences on PC, Xbox Series X/S (including Game Pass Ultimate), and PS5.
