Learn Realistic Character Creation with ZBrush, MetaHuman, & Marvelous Designer
The course offers a custom sculpting workflow in ZBrush, detailed clothes creation, and more.
Creating 3D characters is a complex task, as you need to work on proportions, likeness, and add a lively look and a face expression to make a portrait look lifelike and not creepy. The High-End Photorealistic Character Creation: Modern Reality in UE5 course from Lee Jeonghyeon will help you craft characters that look impressively realistic.
The learning path features a workflow for creating a cinematic-quality female character with contemporary fashion. You will master MetaHuman, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, UE5, and AI Workflows. The course includes 13 hours of video content, a ZBrush file, and a UE5 project file. It is aimed at intermediate-level learners.
The lecturer will walk you through a hybrid MetaHuman and custom sculpting workflow using ZBrush sculpting and XYZ skin detailing, a full modern clothing pipeline, covering pattern-making, fold refinement, and creating tactical and techwear fabrics, leather, seams, and realistic wrinkles.
Apart from this, you will learn how to build custom shaders for skin, eyes, and cloth, set up strand-based hair, and cinematic lighting. Also, the course explores AI-enhanced workflows, including extracting facial and body motion from videos and applying it to MetaHuman, as well as using LartAI to refine final renders with micro-details that go beyond standard engine capabilities.
The lecturer, Lee Jeonghyeon, is a character artist with experience in top Korean game studios, spanning both realistic and stylized production. His notable credits include character modeling for Action Square's Three Kingdoms Blade and Com2uS's Zenonia Chronobreak, where he worked across the full pipeline from prototype to final assets.
