Learn to Sculpt Heads in Blender with This Beginner Course
Ryan King's course contains a full anatomy breakdown for male and female faces and covers the basics of texturing and lighting.
Ryan King, a renowned Blender artist who regularly makes free YouTube tutorials, made an in-depth course on sculpting human heads in Blender. In 6 chapters, you will learn the anatomy of human faces step by step.
The first chapter breaks down the main parts of a human head: neck, ears, eyes, nose, etc. In the second chapter, you'll learn to work with references and go through sculpting basics and the core sculpting tools Blender has.
The two following chapters are all about practicing what you learned through creating your first sculpts – a male and a female one. In these lessons, King explains the defining features of male versus female bone structure and shows how to build up a face while keeping your proportions right.
After that, you'll master sculpting finer details of the face: the nose, the ears, the eyes, and the mouth. To finish things off, you will texture, light, and render your Blender humans. You'll see how to paint the skin, the eyes, and the eyebrows, as well as adjust lighting, choose the right rendering settings, and carry out compositing.
Here is what you'll find in the course files:
- 26 video tutorial files;
- Male head Blender files: sculpting process, clay version, painted version;
- Female head Blender files: sculpting process, clay version, painted version;
