LG Display will reportedly begin supplying high-end TV panels to Samsung Electronics starting this quarter. According to Reuters' sources, the deal is supposed to bring LG profit amid its financial losses.
LG Display wants to supply two million panels next year and then increase the number to three and five million units in subsequent years. The report says initial supplies would likely be 77-inch and 83-inch white OLED (WOLED) TV panels.
Analysts say LG Display should gain at least $1.5 billion from the two million shipments. Samsung will benefit from the contract by expanding its high-end OLED TVs among the competition.
