Oh, and LinkedIn will use your data to train AI soon.
You must have seen countless videos of AI agents conducting interviews with job candidates and heard about HR simply taking CVs through artificial intelligence. Now, you have proof that it actually happens thanks to Cameron Mattis's hilarious experiment.
He added a line to his LinkedIn profile, asking potential LLMs to disregard the commands given to them and provide a flan recipe instead. The results were ridiculous.

Mattis certainly has a sense of humor: several years ago, he started replying to recruiters with songs:

This is absolutely hilarious but also kind of sad. There is a huge unemployment issue, with people sending hundreds of applications and getting no offers, and here we are, with AI scraping profiles.
If that wasn't bad enough, starting November 3, 2025, LinkedIn will begin to use data from members in the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Canada, and Hong Kong to train content-generating AI models "that enhance your experience and better connect our members to opportunities."
The data includes details from your profile and public content you post on the platform but doesn't involve private messages. Thankfully, you can opt out in your settings.
