Machine Party, a recently released collection of brutal party games from developers GDeavid and Mike Klubnika, the creator of Buckshot Roulette and s.p.l.i.t., received an update, with version 2.0 introducing couch co-op.

The developers also announced that the game has sold over 1 million copies, thanking the community for their support.

Machine Party can now be played on a TV, allowing players to gather with controllers and enjoy the game together on the big screen. To access couch co-op, players need to connect up to four controllers, navigate to Local in the menu, and select either Original, Custom, or Arcade; once in the lobby screen, users can press any button on one of the controllers to join. The developers noted that one player can also use keyboard and mouse, so for a group of four, only three controllers would be needed.

Mike Klubnika and GDeavid shared a scheme for setting up hardware for the couch co-op mode:

The game is a series of dangerous and wild party games, where players face lethal consequences for failure, gathering friends to face high-stakes challenges where survival is far from guaranteed. Machine Party takes classic party game formats and twists them into darker and more chaotic versions, full of tension, screams, and horror.

Mike Klubnika earlier became a major financial supporter of the Godot engine. open-source game engine, and an interview with Godot shared some insights about their other project, Buckshot Roulette, discussing that the title was born from his desire to do something more narrative-heavy after his hit project s.p.l.i.t was done.
