Lovely delay.
3D Artist Jesse Miettinen, also known as Blenderesse, showcased a demo of auto-focus achieved with Blender's Simulation Nodes and raycasting. This method appears to be a response to CGMatter's recent tutorial on the same topic, as his approach looked a bit more time-consuming.
If you are using Geometry Nodes anyway, you could use Simulation Nodes to transition between the focus. It would be great to see Jesse Miettinen's tutorial on this setup, but you can check out the original CGMatter's auto-focus in Blender video below:
You may have heard about Jesse Miettinen as the creator of many great Blender tools, such as a brand-new cottage generator, raindrops simulator, a Geometry Nodes-powered bridge generator that can adapt to the landscape, or water smudge mask generator, and the artist behind this Finland-inspired marchlands environment, a short animation inspired by the Dune series, a procedural hazmat tent simulation, and more.
