Marvel's Blade Will Be Powered by Void Engine

The tech has been used in Dishonored 2 and Deathloop.

While we're waiting for Marvel's Blade developed by Arkane, new details are getting revealed. We've already seen some great concept art for the action-adventure game, and now there is the tech side evidence.

According to the profile of senior lighting artist Thomas Mothe, Marvel's Blade is powered by Void, Arkane's engine based on id Software's id Tech 5. You can see it in action in Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and Deathloop.

After the fact got spread all over the internet, Mothe removed this part from his ArtStation profile, but the "damage" had already been done.

Honestly, it's not such a surprising development. Arkane Lyon has been using the engine for a while, so why change it now? Hopefully, the team has upgraded Void, though, putting newer versions of id Tech as a basis or changing it on their own.

Marvel's Blade is going to be a third-person single-player action-adventure set in Paris, and I hope Void will do the city justice. It will follow vampire hunter Eric Brooks and feature an original narrative, but that's about all we know about the game for now, unfortunately.

How do you think Void will affect the new Blade game? Share your thoughts and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
