The news of a possible deal between Amazon and EA to bring the latter's beloved military sci-fi franchise to the TV screen from three years ago has finally received some updates on this year's N7 Day. Now, the Mass Effect TV series is reportedly in development.
According to Variety, Amazon MGM Studios has been working on the TV series with Karim Zreik's Cedar Tree Productions. Daniel Casey, best known for the sci-fi films Kin and F9, is the writer and executive producer, along with Ari Arad, one of the producers of the Borderlands film, and EA's Michael Gamble.
Bioware
Mass Effect is a legendary RPG series that has received universal critical acclaim and huge commercial success. The original 2007 game sold over one million copies in less than three weeks of its launch and 1.6 million copies in six weeks. In 2010, Electronic Arts took over the publisher role from Microsoft Game Studios, i.e., the Xbox Game Studios right now.
BioWare previously released three core games, a few mobile games, and a sequel called Mass Effect: Andromeda. A new Mass Effect game was announced in 2020, and on the N7 Day last year, the developer dropped a trailer featuring its possible protagonist. The game's director, Michael Gamble, also hinted that Epic Games' MetaHuman will be used to create realistic characters to the game.
