Mesmerizing Pencil Sharpening 3D Animation with Meaning

Victor Verdugo created a deliciously smooth "endless" animation of sharpening a pencil as a Houdini exploration. It's not just a motion exercise, there is a deeper meaning behind this project called The Waste We Leave.
"I was going through my Dropbox, freeing up space, and I thought about all those tests, backup files, and WIPs we’ve produced and left there, just wasting space. I started thinking about all those pieces we don’t see that didn’t make it to the final cut, but are still there around as waste," the artist said.
Verdugo mostly used Cloth and ShapeMatch constraints from Vellum for the animation, breaking the shavings at the end to make it look less boring. "Thanks to MOPs for making the transition so easy."
