No more Crucial stuff for you.

Micron, a company that produces computer memory and data storage, announced that it's made the "difficult decision to exit the Crucial consumer business in order to improve supply and support for [its] larger, strategic customers in faster-growing segments" (via PC Gamer).
It means that it is not interested in providing RAM for plebs simple PC users anymore and will instead focus on AI data centers due to a "surge in demand for memory and storage."
I guess its Crucial brand isn't so crucial now. The company will stop making RAM for everyday consumers starting February 2026.
"This decision reflects Micron's commitment to its ongoing portfolio transformation and the resulting alignment of its business to secular, profitable growth vectors in memory and storage," it said in a press release. "By concentrating on core enterprise and commercial segments, Micron aims to improve long-term business performance and create value for strategic customers as well as stakeholders."
For the people whose needs are no longer that important for Micron, it likely means even higher prices for RAM and other memory products. Well, at least AI companies will be happy.
