Artem Shapiro has really outdone himself with this one.
Artem Shapiro, a talented Animator and Senior 3D Character Artist at Larian Studios, continues to wow the audiences and the entire 80 Level team by offering a look at his new WIP project that made many wonder just how on Earth something like this is even made.
Behold, an absolutely jaw-dropping 3D Leviathan test rig featuring fluid, snake-like movements that make you hope Unknown Worlds reaches out to Artem to bring this majestically menacing creature into Subnautica 2. According to the creator, the beast itself was sculpted in ZBrush, while its rig was built entirely in Blender without any third-party tools or add-ons, really putting the spotlight on Artem's immense skill.
Previously, the artist presented Chimera Eye, a neat digital monster eye model featuring a dilatable pupil that can shrink and expand in a lifelike manner, also set up with a ZBrush+Blender combo:
And prior to that, Artem delighted us with a series of WIP renders featuring Orthon Yurgir, one of the characters from Baldur's Gate 3.
We highly encourage you to visit Artem's ArtStation page to see more of his 3D creature concepts.
