Mobile-Friendly 1,000 Fish Simulation In Unity

Paulo Brandao shared the latest progress from his team.

As Paulo Brandao from Superheart explained, a simple Boids setup in Unity could only handle about 150 fish before the CPU started struggling, especially on mobile, since there's no GPU acceleration. With Unity's Burst compiler, things got way faster, and the team could handle 1,000 fish with minimal CPU load.

Here's another experiment from the same project: 3D procedural cave generation.

"Hard but fun working with my tiny team on underwater drones, fluid controls, targeting systems, projectiles, FX, and a jet-fighter feel with a mythical dolphin."

The game is apparently called Tap Oceans, and you can learn more about it here. Paulo also mentioned that there will be a browser-based version.
