Resident Evil is one of the gaming series with the most complex and extensive lore, and players can dive deeper into it thanks to all the information hidden throughout the games.

The modder Keff0 posted two videos on YouTube revealing over 1,000 unused voice lines he found in the Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil Requiem.

The cut voice lines from the remake are from Leon, Ashley, Luis, and the Merchant. Keff0 discovered that the Merchant makes a reference to another game by saying, "Ah, I see you're no stranger to villages... The Duke? Lad shows promise," which probably refers to The Duke from Resident Evil Village.

Keff0 also found unused death animations suggesting the Merchant was originally meant to be killable in the RE4 remake.

In Requiem, the modder found that the cut lines revealed more about the characters, and that the lines for the infected could've been even more traumatizing than what made it into the game. The T-virus in Requiem allowed the infected to remember some memories of their lives and even repeat familiar actions, like singing.

What Keff0 discovered is that burning zombies would beg for water while screaming about being hurt by the flames. Chunk would plead for his life, crying about stress, and some infected would thank you when you kill them.

But one of the most interesting lines Keff0 found is from Leon. At the end of the game, when he was starting to suffer from the infection and his wounds, he would say, "I promise I'll make it home," suggesting he intended to move on with his life. Keff0 also saw that Ashley was meant to use a pipe as a weapon in the RE4 remake when she helped Leon open a door.
