Andrew Averkin is back with another great environment.
Talented 3D artist Andrew Averkin shared a closer look at the kitchen area in the hut he created for Relicts, an animated horror short movie with a dark story, set in a remote village lost in the woods.
"It follows a day of a young woman that by a mere accident discovers that her settlement has gone completely abandoned... that she herself with her husband and unborn baby inside her belly seem to be the last living beings in this desolated place. Alas, it proves to be quite the opposite as she faces the gruesome truth - that nothing around her is really what it seems. In an instant, her quiet life turns into a nightmare with no chance to escape. Atmosphere of bone-chilling isolation gets plagued by the occult vibe and a scent of long forgotten mysteries."
Averkin worked on the scene's modeling, sculpting, texturing, pre-lighting, scene assembling, and set dressing. He says it was "a deeply atmospheric project, built with care by a passionate team."
The gripping atmosphere of the environment was set with 3ds Max and V-Ray. We have seen a similar project from Averkin before, an Unreal Engine prototype for a walking simulator. If horror is not your thing, check out his cozy Christmas scene.
