Mysterious Valve Device Got Certified in South Korea

Could it be its next VR headset?

Rumors of Valve's new VR headset have been circulating since last year when a job listing revealed the company was looking for a specialist in this area, and in December, Product Designer Greg Coomer said that it was "working on a new VR headset lately."

Now, content creator Brad Lynch has found certification for some kind of low-power wireless device by Valve that requires a 5GHz WLAN. The information was published on the Korean Radio Research Agency website.

The device holds a model name 1030, while Index – Valve's existing VR headset – was numbered 1007, and Steam Deck was 1010.

The same organization also certified Quest 3 and HTC VIVE XR Elite with similar descriptions, so chances are this is actually a new VR tech from Valve. At the same time, it could be a controller or Steam Deck 2, although it's a bit too early for it.

Let's hope we'll hear more about it soon enough. Find out more here and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
