New AR App Imports Video And Camera Tracking Into Houdini And Blender

Check out a useful app that will help transfer data from your smartphones to Houdini, Blender, or Cinema 4D.

The tool is called Byblay and It's a mix of mobile and desktop apps. First, the mobile app records videos and deals with AR tracking. Then, videos are then uploaded to the platform's cloud where they are processed and stored.

Byplay Desktop downloads a processed video and prepares it for importing into a VFX package of your choice. The team also has a Houdini plugin installed as a part of the desktop app. The final result is a scene with a background video and animated camera for you to drop a 3D object and render.

The developer said that the app uses ARKit on iOS and ARCore on Android. Please note that the Android version is not ready yet.

You can learn more about the tool here and grab it on the App Store. Don't forget to join our new Telegram channel, our Discord, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
