CannonHead has been growing rapidly.
Rod3dArt is the solo developer behind CannonHead, a third-person action shooter inspired by 1920s and 1930s animations that we've covered a few times.
He has just launched a new demo for the project, showcasing a level where the protagonist battles various formidable foes, some equipped with Doom-style shield saws. The gameplay also involves climbing on platforms and jumping onto one positioned over lava.
Along with the combat showcase, the new demo also gives us a look at its vertical UI HUD at the bottom of the gaming screen, which has three bars showing the ammo, possibly HP, and distance to the speed limit.
The game seems to have made incredible progress since we first covered it last October. What was then a showoff of the tire feet effect without too much core gameplay has evolved into gameplay that encompasses more elements like enemies, environments, weapons, systems, and more.
Speaking of the weapons, which are your powerful tools to take down the brutal enemies, the solo developer just gave a sneak peek at the game's future arsenal via the latest Patreon post.
The videos below provide an overview of the types of enemies you can expect to face and eliminate in the game:
CannonHead is available to be wishlisted on Steam. And if you'd like to be involved in its development and see it grow and become a more complete game with Rod3dArt's effort, don't hesitate to check out the project's Patreon page.
