New Silent Hill Games To Be Revealed This Week

Following months of rumors and speculation about the upcoming Silent Hill games, Konami revealed that it will share the latest updates about the Silent Hill series during a special stream, Silent Hill Transmission, that will take place on October 19.

The news comes from the official Silent Hill Twitter account which, prior to the announcement, had been silent from the start of the year. Konami hasn't shared what exactly the stream will include, however, the event might reveal a new game or even games as well as provide us with updates on various TV shows that are currently in development.

Rumors about new parts of Silent Hill games have been circulating for quite some time now. Since May, people have been suggesting that Silent Hill 2 remake is currently in the works at Blair Witch and The Medium developer Bloober Team.

In early September, several supposedly leaked images claimed to be a "proof of concept no-budget demo" from an internal pitch by Bloober Team appeared online. And later the rumors that Bloober is working on the Silent Hill 2 remake were corroborated by film director Chrisophe Gans, who directed the original Silent Hill movie and is now working on the upcoming reboot.

In addition, Gans claimed that several developers are also working on multiple Silent Hill games, although he didn't specify either developers or titles.

Previous reports also suggested that there are multiple Silent Hill projects in development, including a new mainline title and side stories. One of these side stories may be Silent Hill: The Short Message, which was rated for release in South Korea in late September.

It remains to be seen which of these projects Konami will reveal, so stay tuned for this Wednesday when some of the new Silent Hill games will be finally announced at Silent Hill Transmission.
