NVIDIA is known for making chips for AI workstations but a new report states it's ready to invade Intel's domain of personal computers, and AMD is not far behind.

NVIDIA has allegedly started designing Arm-based CPUs that would run on Windows, several resources told Reuters. This is part of Microsoft's initiative to help chip manufacturers create Arm-based processors for Windows computers, according to data from research firm IDC.

AMD also plans to join the party with its chips for PCs with Arm technology, the report says, potentially becoming another very dangerous rival for Intel. In fact, its stock dropped slightly after the report surfaced.

So when can we expect these new chips? Reuters says both companies could sell them as soon as 2025 and join Qualcomm, which has been making Arm-based chips for laptops for 7 years now. On Tuesday, Qualcomm is said to talk more about a flagship chip that a team of ex-Apple engineers designed.

Speaking of Apple, it recently signed a new deal with Arm, which "extends beyond 2040". Its custom chips made Microsoft want to attain similar performance, one of Reuters' sources said.

It looks like we'll have these tech giants providing all kinds of hardware and services soon, and it could benefit customers and create a more competitive atmosphere for companies so they can rapidly improve and come up with new solutions.
