"Whatever policy we implemented caused America to lose one of the largest markets in the world."
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, was at the Citadel Securities Future of Global Markets 2025 last week, and he spoke about AI in China's market, but also about the US policies and how that situation can affect both nations.

"China has about 50% of the world's AI researchers, incredible schools, incredible focus in AI, lots of passion around AI. And I think it's a mistake to not have those researchers build AI on American technology," he said during the conference. It is known that the relationship between the US and China is not easy, and for Huang, it's a shame that that affects the development of technology, specially AI.
Because of China's restrictions, NVIDIA it's not able to sell its AI chips in that country, making them lose a lot of money, but the resolution is completely out of Huang's hands, even though he knows that the issue doesn't only affect NVIDIA.
"We are 100% out of China… we went from 95% market share to 0%, and so I can't imagine any policymaker thinking that's a good idea, that whatever policy we implemented caused America to lose one of the largest markets in the world."

The CEO thinks that the policies that a country implements can also affect that country. Leaving out Chinese AI developers can slow down the growth of AI technology worldwide. He hopes things to be different soon, and that the US will change its policy so the markets can merge and create something together.
"China is the second-largest computer market in the world. It is a vibrant ecosystem. I think it's a mistake for the United States not to participate. So hopefully we'll continue to explain and inform and hold out hope for a change in policy."
