Revisit the old prison with extra details and realism.
A year ago, NVIDIA announced Half-Life 2 RTX, an unofficial community-made RTX remaster of the well-received 2004 first-person shooter developed by Valve. This project, developed together with Orbifold Studios, aims to deliver more immersive and realistic experiences for players, using NVIDIA's advanced technologies, including full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, NVIDIA Reflex, and RTX IO.
Today, NVIDIA has showcased a new trailer, which includes fierce combat footage in the prison area Nova Prospekt, to give us a fresh look at the project. Switching RTX on and off shows a strong comparison with the realism coming from increased details, like shadows created by the full ray tracing lighting.
Over the past year, we’ve received some updates from the developers. The gameplay trailer NVIDIA shared in January this year showed how Ravenholm, the game's spookiest location, became even more eerie thanks to realistic lighting and shadow effects. Later, Orbifold Studios shared some screenshots of new props and 3D materials they had worked on.

The project is still in early development, so we might not expect a release window anytime soon. To learn more about the project, you can check out the official website or follow the developer on Twitter.
