The game is being developed by Orbifold Studios using RTX Remix.
NVIDIA has announced Half-Life 2 RTX, an unofficial community-made RTX remaster of Valve's legendary first-person shooter being developed by Orbifold Studios, a game development studio comprised of four of Half-Life 2's top mod teams.
Currently in early development, Half-Life 2 RTX leverages a variety of NVIDIA's advanced technologies, including full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, NVIDIA Reflex, and RTX IO to deliver an exceptional gaming experience tailored for GeForce RTX users.
The main piece of tech the team uses, according to the announcement, is RTX Remix, a robust modding platform that allows developers to drastically improve the visuals in classic games by capturing game assets, automatically enhancing materials with powerful AI tools, and quickly enabling RTX with ray tracing and DLSS.

Earlier, RTX Remix was also used earlier to create a remastered version of Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Portal with RTX, a DLC to Valve's original Portal that reimagines the game's graphics with full ray tracing and DLSS 3.
