One of Steam's Most-Played New Games Is Basically Painting Plus Prop Hunt
The game sold over 3 million copies in just a week!
Meccha Chameleon, described as a Prop Hunt with paint, got a lot of popularity on social media and achieved a great accomplishment within a week of release, becoming one of the most played Steam games, even though its premise sounds very simple.
In this game, you have to paint your white body to mimic the backgrounds and hide from Seekers, but paint is not the only thing that matters; you have to find a strategic hiding spot and pose.
So far, the game has very positive reviews according to SteamDB. The current viewers are around 61,300, and the peak player count is over 200,000. It's also the #1 in top sellers and in wishlist activity.
Meccha Chameleon allows you to play with friends, but also with people from the internet. For this, you have to create a server that is not set to private, so anyone can join.
According to the developer, the number of players depends on the host's network environment, and the game is recommended to be played between 2 and 10 players, but this number might change over time.
Right now, the game is getting a lot of popularity on TikTok and YouTube, with many streamers and gamers sharing videos of themselves playing it.
The developer, lemorion_1224, shared on their Steam page that the game reached 2 million copies sold and that a new map will be added later this week.
