Out of Bounds Mod Reveals Trick Used to Show Your Oblivion Remastered Character When Paused
Boundary Break unveils more secrets.
If you want to see how game developers realized mechanics, out-of-bounds mods are your friends. YouTube channel Boundary Break always has something interesting to show, and this time, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered spills its secrets thanks to the channel's creator, Derek Forte, better known as Shesez.
One curious detail that Shesez found is a copy of your character buried deep under the environment at all times. The creator figured out that this copy is used when your game is paused. Instead of taking a shot of the hero in real time, Bethesda went to the copycat and took a screenshot of the last location you were at.

One more detail is that Oblivion, like other Bethesda games, has an out-of-bounds chest, which keeps the wares of all the shopkeepers. I guess it's easier for the developers this way than having everything operate in real time.

There are many more exciting facts about various games on Boundary Break, like how Telltale Games faked its rearview mirror reflection by duplicating the police officer and environment in The Walking Dead or what The Last of Us Part 2 looks like in its entirety, so check it out.
