The news comes amidst a lawsuit Playdead has filed against Limbo and Inside Executive Producer and studio Co-Founder Dino Patti.
UPD: Dino Patti has told 80 Level that the delisting is likely unrelated to the lawsuit and more likely tied to Playdead's efforts to remove Patti's name from the credits of Limbo and Inside.
"As far as I know, this had nothing to do with the court case," the Co-Founder told us. "It might have something to do with [Playdead CEO Arnt Jensen] removing me from the game credits as he's done on Steam and other stores."
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: As much as we all hate to see issues within video game studios affecting their titles, it is, unfortunately, rarely the case that quarrels between the parents don't impact their children in some way. The latest such example was brought to us courtesy of Playdead, whose iconic indie hits Limbo and Inside are now set to be delisted from GOG, with no reason for their removal provided by the GOG team.

According to an announcement shared by the marketplace, the games are scheduled to go offline on July 17, 2025, at 3 PM CEST and will no longer be available for purchase afterward, though existing owners will still have access to them.
Furthermore, the team's statement reveals they have no details about discounts, implying that GOG itself doesn't have much information on the "why" behind the delisting, which, in turn, suggests that the decision to remove the games was Playdead's and not theirs. Speaking of discounts, as of now, Inside is available on GOG with a steep 90% discount, while Limbo is still being sold at its regular price.
What's most intriguing here is not the delisting itself but its timing, as just a few weeks ago, Playdead confirmed filing a lawsuit against Dino Patti, the studio's Co-Founder and executive producer of the aforementioned games, over "the use of trademarks, copyrighted works, and marketing practices," referring to Patti's use of a publicly available image in a LinkedIn post.
Patti, on the other hand, believes the real intent is to erase him from the history of the company, Limbo, and Inside, viewing the court battle as an opportunity to bring everything into the open and finally speak more freely and openly about the situation without legal restrictions.
"To be honest, I find it difficult to understand what Arnt is hoping to achieve here," the Co-Founder told 80 Level in response to the lawsuit. "It feels deeply misguided. I doubt he's fully considered the level of brainpower, resources, and money this will demand on his part... not to mention the optics of a nearly 100-person company targeting a single individual. There's a fundamental mismatch in both substance and proportionality. Let's see how it plays out."
With court battles now in full swing and GOG preparing to remove Limbo and Inside, many are questioning whether these two events are connected and if this signals the titles might also get delisted from other marketplaces like Steam or EGS. We have reached out to Dino Patti – Playdead previously stated they won't provide any comments while the legal case is ongoing – to learn more about the delisting, and will update the report once the former executive responds.
