PlayStation 5: Stunning Load Times, Ray Tracing, and More

Sony has revealed some of the amazing features of its next-generation PlayStation during its recent presentation.

Sony has revealed some of the amazing features of its next-generation PlayStation during its recent presentation. Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that their next generation of consoles (or PlayStation 5) will feature super fast load times. We have to thank an all-new solid state drive built into the device for that.

The company has been working on its next-generation console for months, but we’ve heard only rumors, and now we finally know some specific details.

Here are some details from the presentation:

  • A new SSD for faster load times
  • Improved CPU and GPU
  • New GPU will support 8K graphics and 3D audio
  • Backwards compatibility that lets users play both new and old games
  • Support for physical games
  • Ray tracing

The team stated that the next-gen console can load up content in a fraction of the time that it would take the PlayStation 4 Pro. What is more, it appears that we’ll get backwards compatibility and ray tracing!

“We will harness the power of new technology to offer completely transformative and immersive gaming experiences,” their representative said. “We will leverage backwards compatibility to transition our community to next-gen faster and more seamlessly than ever before.”
