PlayStation VR2 To Debut at Tokyo Game Show 2022

Sony's next-gen VR headset will be playable for the first time via Resident Evil Village at Tokyo Game Show next month.

This week, Sony announced the release window for its next-gen VR headset, PlayStation VR2 – according to the company, the new device will hit the market at the beginning of 2023.

However, players will have a chance to experience PSVR 2 a little earlier as the new headset will make its first appearance at Tokyo Game Show that will be held from September 15 to 18 in Chiba, Japan.

The title where you can try out the new device will be the PlayStation VR2 version of Resident Evil Village. Capcom announced that the game will be playable at the event next month via the official Japanese Resident Evil/Biohazard Twitter account inviting players to "experience the ultimate immersion by playing a part of Dmitrescu Castle."

The tweet was later reposted by the official Japanese PlayStation account that added: "This will be the first opportunity for PlayStation users to experience PlayStation VR2. Please visit the Tokyo Game Show 2022 Capcom booth."

Resident Evil: Village for PlayStation VR2 was first announced during this year's State of Play event with Sony promising to bring the entire campaign to VR, with eye tracking, 4K HDR, and PS5’s 3D Audio. In addition to the PS VR2 headset, players will also have to use the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers representing each hand in-game, which means players will need to raise their arms to lock if they want the character to do the same.

While we've finally learned when Sony's next-gen headset will see its launch, Capcom has yet to reveal a release date for the PS VR2 version of Resident Evil Village.
