Procedural Anatomy For Houdini Now Available

Build accurate anatomical models easily with a free 1-month trial.

Djangotron Studios' Procedural Anatomy, a Houdini tool designed to quickly generate muscle and skeletal geometry for a digital human, is now officially out of beta. In case you missed it, Procedural Anatomy was first announced just over a year ago by a team of industry veterans with backgrounds in VFX and animation. The tool entered a free open beta last summer and is now out in early access. It supports Houdini 20.5 and offers multiple licensing options, with more on the way.

Designed to reduce modeling turnaround time, Procedural Anatomy helps accelerate character FX and rigging workflows. Import your character, match the Procedural Anatomy's animation skeleton, and the tool will generate muscle geometry over the skeleton along with soft tissue to achieve the character's overall volume. The results are compatible with the KineFX toolset and can be exported to other DCC software.

Procedural Anatomy is currently available under Indie, Commercial, and Custom license options, with plans to introduce both educational and trial versions soon. As part of the launch, the developers are offering a limited-time discount that allows users to test the tool for free until August 1st. Head to the Indie purchase page and use the code LAUNCHSPECIAL at checkout to apply the offer.
