Realistic Clothing Simulations Made With Chaos in UE5

The developer of Cine Tracer revealed the results of several experiments with MetaHuman clothing assets.

Over the past week, Cinematographer and Unreal Engine enthusiast Matt Workman of Cinematography Database revealed multiple real-time clothing simulations made by combining MetaHuman clothing assets with the new Unreal Engine 5 Chaos, a light-weight physics simulation solution that can be used for setting up ragdolls, vehicles, destructions, and, of course, cloth.

The demos released by the author showcase Matt's experiments with the system that allowed him to set up several various clothing items with different behavior and physics. According to the creator, the demos were made for learning purposes.

On top of that, the creator released tens of hours worth of behind-the-scenes videos that demonstrate the working process behind the simulations. You can check them out down below or by visiting the Cinematography Database YouTube page.
