This complex skin shader is a flexible and easy-to-use tool for setting up realistic skins without the need to deal with complex nodal setups.
The thing is that it’s actually pretty difficult to get a realistic skin in Octane yourself because you have to connect lots of nodes in order to get the same optical behavior of the various layers of the human tissue.
“The best results are achieved using high quality and resolution textures but also with low-quality textures, such as those provided with DAZ 3D models, you can get good results,” notes the description.
The author states that the shader was tested only with Octane 4.x for Blender so he only recommends it to users that own that version. Future upgrades will be compatible with newer releases of Octane Render.
