We're all used to the anime look of Ghost in the Shell, but what if it was drawn in a more realistic way? You don't have to struggle to imagine it because Character Concept Artist Fabio Cacciola did it for you.
Using a mix of Blender and Photoshop, the artist presented their vision of some characters from Public Security Section 9. So far, there are concepts of Motoko, Daisuke Aramaki, Togusa, Saito, and Batou.
This art is still a work in progress, and the creator aims to make all the characters from Stand Alone Complex and Arise by the end of the year if possible.
Cacciola has plenty of cyberpunk projects in their portfolio of ArtStation, and the Ghost in the Shell definitely fits in, so I believe we'll see something impressive soon enough.
Ghost in the Shell is on the rise lately. For example, look at this cool teaser of the 1-bit demake of the show created by Super Kaylo.
The latest official project in the series was Netflix's Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, released in 2020 with Season 2 following in 2022. The show received lukewarm reviews, so hopefully, the franchise will get some kind of reboot one day.
