Reallusion Unveils Face Tools for ZBrush & Character Creator

It provides seamless integration between the programs.

Reallusion has revealed Face Tools, a plug-in that seamlessly connects its Character Creator with ZBrush. It allows you to easily improve your stylized or realistic character assets with customized detail in ZBrush and transfer the changes to Character Creator.

Simply put, you can make a mesh in Character Creator, and then the tool transfers it to ZBrush, with the head, eyes, teeth, and tongue set as separate SubTools. There, you can work on all the little details and make your own, distinct character.

After, Face Tools transfers it back to Character Creator, complete with baked diffuse, normal, and cavity maps.

Apart from face details, the plug-in can help you capture the most suitable expressions. You can transfer core expressions from Character Creator to ZBrush to customize them and then selectively update CC expressions. Dynamic wrinkles will help you get the best result possible.

"Automatically generate high-fidelity textures from ultra-high subdivision levels in ZBrush. These source maps, including diffuse, normal, ambient occlusion, and redness, grant unprecedented realism within the dynamic wrinkle system."

Face Tools will help seamlessly export characters to 3D games, films, and extended reality. They can also leverage iClone facial controls, facial motion capture, and precise lip-syncing. Reallusion's tools are compatible with Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, Maya, and other DCC software.

Earlier this year, the company also collaborated with Maxon to bring posing tools to ZBrush

ZBrush Face Tools will work with Character Creator 4.32+. It costs $299 for indie artists and $1,490 for studios.
